Project Background

What began as a collaboration between MassMutual and IDEO to explore engaging 30-somethings in a conversation around life insurance, through iterative design, developed into the design challenge "How might we engage people in their 20s and 30s around their financial future?”

The Ask

Connect the MassMutual brand to young adults through focusing on their money-spending habits.

The Output

Society of Grownups, a digital company that aims to educate millennials on the basics of personal finance and financial wellness.

The Outcome

After two years of continued prototyping, MassMutual recognized that the digital channel had the most potential to grow and focused their investment in building out the bespoke online financial wellness tools to reach more people across the nation.
